This isn't a hackathon or a pitch competition. It's designed for founders who are already running businesses and need a boost - not startup bros looking for their first check.
Why Eva Longoria matters here
This isn't a random celebrity endorsement. Longoria has been building businesses and investing in Latino-owned companies for years. She understands what it means to come from a community where "entrepreneur" isn't a LinkedIn buzzword - it's what your family does to survive.
Having her involved signals that this program is serious about reaching diverse founders, including the communities that usually get left out of "innovation" conversations.
Who should pay attention
If you run a small business and you've been wanting to try AI tools but can't justify the expense, this is worth looking into. Free hardware and software removes the biggest barrier most small businesses face: cost.
The mentorship piece might actually be more valuable than the tech. A good mentor who's been through the same challenges you're facing is worth more than any AI tool. My family's business survived because of the other business owners on our block who shared what they knew.
The reality check
Programs like this are great, but they're limited. There will be more applicants than spots. The selection process might favor businesses that already have some digital presence. And the AI technology they provide is Lenovo's own ecosystem, which may or may not be the best fit for your specific needs.
